Why does the IFD Vintage IFD9701CNSBL stand out from a typical wood console?
The Vintage IFD9701CNSBL combines substantial storage with a highly distinctive two-tone finish. Its solid pine body is hand-distressed and finished in a translucent Blue lacquer that allows the natural wood grain to remain visible, while natural-brown bun feet create contrast at the base. Three drawers provide convenient storage for smaller items, and four glass doors keep larger pieces enclosed but visible. English-dovetail solid-wood drawer fronts and Hafele steel slides add useful construction details behind the vintage appearance. An Antiqued Black version is also available on the same VBU Furniture product page for shoppers who prefer a darker finish.

What does the Vintage Blue finish on IFD9701CNSBL look like?

The IFD9701CNSBL uses a translucent Blue finish rather than a completely opaque paint. International Furniture Direct applies the finish through a multi-step lacquering process and hand-distresses the surface so the pine grain and natural variation remain part of the appearance. Natural-brown bun feet add a second tone at the base, creating a stronger vintage contrast than a single-color cabinet. Because the finish is translucent and the console is made from natural wood, some variation in grain and appearance should be expected from piece to piece.

How is storage divided between the drawers and glass doors?

The Vintage IFD9701CNSBL combines three upper drawers with four glass-front doors below. The drawers are useful for smaller items such as linens, utensils, documents or accessories, while the glass-door section is better suited to larger pieces that you may want visible, such as serving ware, books or decorative objects. In a dining area, this mix of drawer and glass-front storage can overlap with the role of a sideboard, buffet or credenza while giving the room a more decorative vintage focal point.

What construction details are used in the Vintage IFD9701CNSBL?

The console is crafted from solid pine and uses mortise-and-tenon construction for structural stability. Its drawer fronts are made from 100% solid wood and joined with English dovetails, while Hafele steel slides support drawer movement. The four glass doors use magnetic catches, and custom metal handles are finished to resist chipping. These details give the IFD9701CNSBL a stronger construction story than its decorative blue finish alone might suggest.
