Why choose the Ashley Navi Fossil Sofa 9400438?
The Ashley Navi Fossil 9400438 offers the warm look of leather in a casual faux-leather sofa designed for everyday living. Its softly textured Fossil upholstery, gently shaped arms and stitched back cushions give the 89-inch sofa a relaxed contemporary appearance, while the 69-inch space between the arms provides a generous seating area. Both the seat height and seat depth measure 22 inches, creating proportions worth comparing with seating you already enjoy, particularly if you prefer a taller seat with room to settle back. Attached back cushions keep the upper profile in place, while the loose foam seat cushions can be repositioned as part of normal everyday use. The Navi is also available in Smoke (9400238), giving you a darker neutral alternative to Fossil.

How much wall and floor space does the Ashley Navi Sofa 9400438 need?
The Navi is 89 inches wide, so you need at least 89 inches of clear wall width for the sofa itself. For visual balance, a sofa often works well at roughly 60–75% of the usable wall; for the Navi, that suggests approximately 119–148 inches of wall space. A wall around 133–134 inches, or about 11 feet 2 inches, places the sofa close to the two-thirds proportion. These are room-planning guidelines rather than Ashley requirements. With a 38-inch overall depth, also allow room for surrounding furniture: about 14–18 inches between the sofa and a coffee table is a useful planning range. Our
guide to sofa size and wall proportion
explains how sofa scale and surrounding clearances work together. Ashley lists a 32-inch minimum doorway width for delivery.
What do the Navi's 22-inch seat height and 22-inch seat depth mean for sitting?
The Navi combines a relatively tall 22-inch seat height with a 22-inch seat depth. The depth provides room to settle back without reaching the extra-deep proportions of some lounging sofas, while the higher seating surface may feel noticeably different from a low-profile design. Because leg length, posture and preferred sitting position affect comfort, comparing these measurements with a sofa you already like is useful. The
sofa seat-depth guide
explains how seat depth and body proportions influence upright sitting and lounging.
What is the Navi Fossil sofa upholstery and cushion setup like?
The Navi is upholstered in faux leather rather than genuine leather, giving the sofa a warm leather-inspired appearance with a softly textured surface. Its back cushions are attached, while the seat cushions are loose and made with high-quality foam wrapped in poly fiber. The loose seats can be repositioned if they shift forward during everyday use, while the attached backs keep the upper portion of the sofa aligned. For shoppers deciding between upholstery types, our
