What makes the IFD Parota IFD866CONS Console distinctive?
The Parota IFD866CONS combines two different woods and two types of storage in one substantial 70-inch cabinet. The top is crafted from parota wood, while sustainable mango wood is used for the rest of the case. Three drawers provide concealed storage for smaller items, and four glass doors create additional cabinet space while keeping selected contents visible. A hand-crafted wrought-iron base adds contrast beneath the warm wood tones. For shoppers comparing parota consoles, mango wood consoles or rustic glass-door cabinets, this piece stands out for its mix of natural materials, metalwork and practical storage.
What is the difference between the parota top and the mango wood case?
International Furniture Direct uses parota wood for the top of the IFD866CONS and sustainable mango wood for the rest of the cabinet. Parota is known for its distinctive natural grain, and the clear multi-step lacquer is designed to let that grain remain visible rather than covering it with an opaque finish. The mango wood case provides the surrounding cabinet structure, creating a deliberate contrast between the featured parota surface and the rest of the console.
How is storage divided in the Parota IFD866CONS?
The Parota IFD866CONS combines three drawers with four glass doors, so it can handle both concealed storage and display-oriented storage. The drawers are useful for smaller items that you may prefer to keep out of sight, while the glass-front cabinet sections work well for dishes, books, serving pieces or decorative objects. The drawer fronts are solid wood with English dovetail construction, adding a craftsmanship detail to the storage design. In a dining room, this mix of functions can overlap with the role of a
sideboard, buffet or credenza
depending on how you plan to use the cabinet.
What gives the IFD Parota IFD866CONS its rustic mixed-material look?
The console pairs warm natural wood with dark metal details. Its parota top is lightly hand distressed and protected with a clear lacquer that keeps the grain visible, while the mango wood case continues the natural-wood character below. The wrought-iron base is hand crafted, giving the piece a stronger furniture-like presence than a simple wood cabinet. Mortise-and-tenon construction adds another traditional detail behind the rustic appearance.
