Why choose the Ashley Tulen Manual Reclining Loveseat 9860686?
The Ashley Tulen Gray 9860686 gives two people independent reclining seats in a 63-inch-wide loveseat without adding a center console between them. Its waterfall backs, doubly padded pillow-top arms and soft chenille polyester upholstery create a relaxed casual look, while pull-tab controls keep the reclining mechanism straightforward and fully manual. There are 42 inches between the arms, which works out to about 21 inches of seating width per person when divided evenly across the two positions. A 21-inch seat height keeps the seating surface from sitting especially low, while the 22-inch seat depth provides room to settle back before reclining. The Tulen is a useful option for shoppers who want two reclining positions but prefer a shorter wall footprint and do not need console storage or charging features.

How much floor space does the Ashley Tulen Reclining Loveseat 9860686 need when open?
Upright, the Tulen is 40 inches deep; fully reclined, its length reaches 65 inches. That increases the front-to-back footprint by about 25 inches, so the open space in front of the loveseat matters more than its compact 3-inch rear clearance might suggest. The small rear clearance lets it sit close to a wall, but the extended footrests should stay clear of a main walking route. If you are replacing stationary seating, the biggest practical difference between
reclining and standard seating is the extra floor area needed once the footrests extend.
Ashley also lists a 36-inch minimum doorway width for delivery.
How much seating room does the Tulen 9860686 provide for two people?
The loveseat is 63 inches wide overall, but the space between the arms measures 42 inches. Divided across the two reclining positions, that is roughly 21 inches of seating width per person before accounting for how each occupant actually sits. The 22-inch seat depth allows room to lean back, while the 21-inch seat height is worth comparing with a chair or recliner you already use comfortably. For shoppers deciding whether a compact two-seat piece makes more sense than a larger sofa, the
trade-off between loveseat width and room circulation
can be especially important when reclining furniture also needs open space in front.
How does the manual reclining mechanism work on the Ashley Tulen Gray Loveseat 9860686?
Both outside seating positions recline manually using pull-tab controls, so each person can change their position independently without connecting the loveseat to power. That makes the Tulen simpler to place than a powered model because reclining does not depend on access to an electrical outlet. The trade-off is that position changes are mechanical rather than push-button controlled. When planning the room, the
usable floor space around the seating matters as much as the closed dimensions,
particularly because the loveseat grows from 40 inches deep upright to 65 inches fully reclined.
