How much space should you allow for the Stonemeade 5950539 when the sleeper is open?
In sofa form, the Stonemeade measures 92 inches wide and 41 inches deep. When the queen sleeper is opened, the distance from the outside back of the sofa to the end of the bed is 93 inches. Use that 93-inch figure as the actual sleeper footprint. If the area at the foot also serves as a walkway, allow about
30–36 inches of walkway clearance
beyond the bed, with about 36 inches preferred for a primary circulation path. That extra clearance is for movement through the room, not part of the sleeper's required 93-inch depth.
What mattress comes with the Ashley Stonemeade 5950539?
The Stonemeade includes a bi-fold queen memory foam mattress measuring 60 inches wide, 72 inches long and 4 inches thick. It rests on a supportive steel frame, and Ashley states that the memory foam is designed for better airflow and is encased in damask ticking. That dedicated mattress is separate from the sofa cushions, which is a useful distinction when comparing a
sofa and sleeper sofa
for occasional guest use.
Which Stonemeade 5950539 cushions are reversible?
The seat cushions are reversible, so they can be flipped and repositioned to help distribute everyday wear. The back cushions are attached and do not reverse. Reversible cushions should not be treated as automatically machine washable; cleaning should follow the upholstery care instructions supplied with the sofa.
Is the Stonemeade 5950539 a deep sofa for everyday use?
The Stonemeade measures 41 inches deep overall, while the usable seat depth is 22 inches. Those numbers describe different parts of the sofa: overall depth includes the frame and back, while seat depth describes the actual sitting area. The 22-inch seat is moderate, but the full 41-inch sofa depth still makes the Stonemeade a substantial piece in tighter rooms.
