Why choose the Ashley Willarae Queen Sofa Sleeper 5980339?
Soft Taupe upholstery gives the Ashley Willarae 5980339 a neutral foundation that can shift easily with different rugs, pillows, wood tones and wall colors. Tapered accent legs add a lighter transitional detail beneath the 92-inch frame, while 73 inches between the arms provides broad everyday seating. Loose seat cushions use foam wrapped in poly fiber, with an attached back keeping the sofa profile tidy. When an overnight guest arrives, the hidden sleeper opens to a separate 60" × 72" memory foam mattress on a supportive metal frame.

How large a room does the Ashley Willarae 5980339 need when opened?
The Willarae occupies 92 inches of wall width and 40 inches of floor depth in everyday sofa use. Once the queen sleeper is opened, the distance from the outside back of the sofa to the end of the bed is 93 inches. Use that 93-inch manufacturer measurement as the bed footprint itself. If the area at the foot also serves as a walkway, allow roughly
30–36 inches of walkway clearance
beyond the sleeper, with about 36 inches preferred for a primary circulation path. That additional clearance is for walking access, not part of the sleeper's required 93-inch depth.
What mattress does the Ashley Willarae 5980339 use for overnight guests?
A bi-fold queen memory foam mattress is built into the Willarae. It measures 60 inches wide by 72 inches long and 4 inches thick and unfolds over a supportive metal frame. Ashley describes the memory foam as providing better airflow and encases it in damask ticking. Because guests sleep on this dedicated mattress rather than on the seat cushions, the daytime and overnight functions use different surfaces—an important distinction when comparing a
sofa and sleeper sofa.
How easy is the Willarae 5980339 to coordinate with other furniture?
The Taupe polyester upholstery is intentionally understated, so the sofa can sit alongside warm wood finishes, darker accent furniture, muted neutrals or stronger colors introduced through rugs, throws and artwork. Tapered faux-wood-finish legs add a transitional touch without pushing the sofa strongly toward either traditional or minimalist styling. That makes the Willarae particularly flexible when the surrounding room may change over time.
What should you know about the Willarae 5980339 cushions and delivery access?
The Willarae has loose seat cushions, so they can be lifted and repositioned during routine tidying, while the back cushions are attached. Ashley lists a minimum doorway width of 32 inches for delivery. Because the complete sofa is 92 inches wide, also measure hallways, elevator openings, stair landings and turning areas rather than relying on the doorway width alone.
VBU Fit & Function Analysis
Space commitment
This is a substantial 92" sofa with a 40" closed depth. In sleeper mode, plan for 93" from the outside back to the end of the bed before adding any optional circulation space at the foot.
Dual-purpose layout
The Willarae provides 73" of everyday seating width and converts to a separate 60" × 72" × 4" queen memory foam sleeping surface for guests.
