Why choose the Ashley Fortman 7-Drawer Dresser B680-31?
The Ashley Fortman B680-31 helps organize a full wardrobe without taking up as much floor depth as many conventional dressers. Its 17.13-inch depth can make a meaningful difference when furniture faces a bed, particularly in apartments and bedrooms with limited walking space. Three smaller upper drawers keep accessories and daily essentials separate, while four wider drawers provide room for folded shirts, jeans and sweaters. The white painted finish brightens the dresser's appearance and pairs easily with contrasting wood tones or neutral bedroom furniture. Framed drawer fronts, satin nickel-tone knobs and tapered feet add understated character, while dovetail construction and ball-bearing side glides support convenient daily access. Fortman is a useful choice for shoppers seeking organized clothing storage, traditional styling and a relatively shallow dresser footprint.

Is the Ashley Fortman B680-31 a good dresser for an apartment or smaller bedroom?

The Fortman B680-31 measures 62.13" W × 17.13" D × 36" H. Its shallow depth projects nearly 3 inches less into the room than a 20-inch-deep dresser, helping preserve walking space between the dresser and bed. This makes it a practical option for apartments with at least 63 inches of available wall width, plus appropriate installation clearance. However, its five-foot-wide footprint may not suit very narrow rooms. Remember to leave enough space to open the drawers fully. For additional guidance, see when a shallow dresser works better than a taller chest in a smaller bedroom.

What clothing fits in the seven drawers of the Ashley Fortman B680-31?

Fortman's three upper drawers measure 16.88 inches wide and 4.88 inches high inside, making them useful for socks, undergarments and small accessories. The four lower drawers measure 26.5 inches wide and 7.13 inches high, allowing folded T-shirts, jeans or sweaters to be arranged in separate stacks. This combination helps keep frequently used small items accessible without mixing them with bulkier clothing. If you're deciding which belongings should be folded rather than hung, explore how dresser storage complements a bedroom wardrobe or closet.

How practical is the Fortman B680-31 white finish and drawer design for everyday use?

The white painted finish and satin nickel-tone knobs help Fortman coordinate with light bedding, natural wood furniture or contrasting bedroom accents without requiring a fully matching set. Its framed drawer fronts and tapered feet give the dresser a classic appearance. For frequent clothing access, dovetail joints reinforce drawer corners, while ball-bearing side glides support smooth opening and closing. The dresser combines hardwood solids and MDF substrate rather than being entirely solid wood. To create a coordinated room without purchasing every matching piece, read how to combine dresser finishes, bedroom furniture and practical storage. Follow the manufacturer's assembly and anti-tip anchoring instructions.
