Why choose the Ashley Sharlance Lift-Top Coffee Table T655-9?
The Ashley Sharlance T655-9 combines a spring-lift work surface, concealed storage, a large drawer and casters in one 42.13-inch-wide coffee table. Raising the top brings the surface to 27.13 inches high and closer to the sofa for occasional laptop work, meals or other seated activities. Beneath the top is a large hidden compartment, while the wide smooth-gliding drawer provides additional enclosed storage for blankets, remotes, games or other living-room essentials. Heavy-duty ball-bearing drawer glides and casters add practical everyday functionality, while the light brown wood-tone finish gives the table a relaxed, traditional look.

Will the Ashley Sharlance T655-9 fit comfortably in a smaller living room?

At 42.13" wide × 28" deep, the Sharlance is shorter than many full-size rectangular coffee tables, but its depth still requires thoughtful placement. A useful starting point is to keep roughly 14–18 inches between the table and sofa for comfortable reach and circulation, following our coffee-table clearance and walkway guidance. With the top raised, overall depth increases to 38.38 inches, so the space in front of the sofa needs to accommodate that movement as well. For broader room-planning considerations, our coffee-table decision guide can help compare its footprint with your seating layout.

What can you use the Sharlance lift top for?

Raising the top changes the working surface from 18.75 inches to 27.13 inches high and brings it closer to the sofa. That makes the table useful for occasional laptop work, meals, writing or other seated tasks that are less convenient on a standard low coffee table. The added reach and height are central to how lift-top and standard coffee tables differ in everyday use. The best fit will still depend on your sofa seat height, depth and preferred sitting position.

How much storage is built into the Ashley Sharlance T655-9?

Two large enclosed storage areas are built into the Sharlance. The compartment beneath the lift top measures 37.63" W × 23.5" D × 6.25" H, while the lower drawer measures 35.63" W × 15.63" D × 4.38" H. The drawer has a fully finished interior, dovetail construction and heavy-duty ball-bearing side glides. Because both storage areas are enclosed, the table can hold larger living-room essentials while keeping visual clutter out of sight.
