Why choose the Ashley Frantanna 9-Drawer Dresser PCB949-31?
The Ashley Frantanna PCB949-31 offers nine separate storage compartments for organizing clothing and personal accessories without mixing everything into a few oversized drawers. Three shallow, felt-lined upper drawers keep smaller belongings accessible, while four medium-height drawers organize everyday clothing and two deeper bottom drawers provide additional room for bulkier folded garments. This arrangement is particularly useful for couples sharing a dresser or anyone who prefers dedicated storage for different clothing categories. At more than 71 inches wide, Frantanna is designed for bedrooms with generous wall space rather than compact layouts. Its richly layered brown finish, substantial molding and antiqued brass-tone knobs create a traditional furniture appearance with decorative depth. Dovetail drawer construction and ball-bearing side glides support convenient access to clothing, making Frantanna a practical choice for shoppers seeking extensive drawer organization and classic bedroom styling.

How can the nine drawers of the Ashley Frantanna PCB949-31 help organize a shared wardrobe?

The Frantanna PCB949-31 has three shallow top drawers, four medium-height drawers and two deeper bottom drawers, making it easy to create separate storage zones. The felt-lined top drawers, each 2.75 inches high inside, suit watches, accessories and smaller belongings. Four 6.13-inch-high middle drawers can organize folded shirts, jeans or everyday clothing, while the two 8-inch-high bottom drawers provide more vertical room for sweaters or thicker garments. Couples could divide the wider drawers between themselves and reserve the upper compartments for shared accessories. For a comparison of bedroom storage configurations, read how wide dressers and vertical chests organize clothing differently.

How large should my bedroom be for the 71-inch Ashley Frantanna dresser?

The Frantanna PCB949-31 measures 71.25" W × 20.5" D × 42.75" H, making it a substantial dresser best suited to a spacious bedroom. For comfortable visual spacing, a wall approximately 79–83 inches wide would leave about 4–6 inches on either side. These are general layout suggestions rather than Ashley installation requirements. The cabinet extends 20.5 inches into the room before its drawers open, so preserve additional clearance between the dresser and bed for walking and retrieving clothing. Its nearly 43-inch height should also be considered when positioning a mirror or artwork. Before selecting furniture for a larger bedroom, explore how to balance bedroom furniture proportions and walking space.

What makes the Frantanna PCB949-31 brown finish and drawer construction distinctive?

Frantanna's multi-step brown stain and glaze with hand-rubbed details creates a layered wood-tone appearance, while substantial molding and antiqued brass-tone knobs emphasize its traditional character. These details make the dresser especially suitable for bedrooms furnished with classic wood pieces, warm neutral upholstery or richly colored accents. The construction combines hardwood solids, birch veneer and MDF substrate rather than being entirely solid wood. Dovetail joints reinforce drawer corners, heavy-duty ball-bearing side glides support smooth movement, and fully finished interiors provide a suitable surface for clothing. For additional guidance on organizing folded garments alongside hanging storage, see when a dresser complements or replaces wardrobe storage. Follow the manufacturer's anti-tip anchoring instructions for safe everyday use.
