Why choose the Ashley Ridgester 5-Drawer Chest B858-46?
The Ashley Ridgester B858-46 provides five spacious drawers in a taller, narrower design that uses less wall width than a traditional dresser. Its 58-inch height makes vertical storage the priority, while the felt-lined top drawer helps protect smaller accessories. Dovetail drawer construction and heavy-duty ball-bearing glides support everyday operation. Rustic hickory veneer brings natural wood-grain character to the light brown finish, complemented by dark bronze-tone bar pulls. This chest is especially useful for bedrooms needing organized clothing storage without dedicating an entire wall to a wide dresser.

What pairs well with the Ridgester chest of drawers? The Ashley Ridgester Queen Panel Bed B858B2 complements the chest's rustic hickory veneer and dark metal accents, creating a coordinated bedroom. For additional clothing storage, the Ashley Ridgester 7-Drawer Dresser B858-31 provides a wider, lower storage arrangement. Together, the chest and dresser offer separate spaces for organizing clothing and accessories while maintaining a consistent natural wood-tone finish.

Is a 5-drawer chest better than a wide dresser for a small bedroom?

The Ashley Ridgester B858-46 is a practical alternative to a wide dresser when wall space is limited. Measuring 41.63 inches wide, 19.38 inches deep and 58.13 inches high, it uses vertical space to provide five drawers of clothing storage. By comparison, the matching Ridgester seven-drawer dresser is 66.5 inches wide, requiring approximately 25 inches more wall space. The chest is better suited to narrower walls, while the dresser provides a wider display surface and additional drawers. Both require room for drawer access and safe circulation. When choosing bedroom furniture based on available wall space, storage capacity and room layout, measuring both the floor footprint and furniture height helps identify the better option.

How much clothing can the Ashley Ridgester B858-46 chest hold?

The Ashley Ridgester B858-46 features five spacious drawers, each with a manufacturer-listed interior width of 33.75 inches and depth of 13.5 inches. The top drawer is felt-lined for smaller accessories, while the remaining drawers provide room for folded shirts, jeans, sweaters and other clothing. Ashley specifies 6.25-inch drawer interior heights, with smooth ball-bearing side glides and dovetail construction. Actual clothing capacity depends on garment thickness and folding style. For a bedroom with greater storage needs, the matching seven-drawer dresser provides an additional option. This distinction is helpful when deciding whether to furnish a bedroom with a coordinated set or individual storage pieces.

Is the Ridgester 5-drawer chest made of solid wood?

The Ashley Ridgester B858-46 combines hardwood solids, rustic hickory veneer and MDF substrates rather than being made entirely from solid hickory. Its natural light brown finish highlights the hickory wood-grain appearance, while dark bronze-tone bar pulls and metal accents add rustic-industrial character. The five drawers feature dovetail joinery, finished interiors and heavy-duty ball-bearing side glides. Understanding the differences between solid wood, wood veneer and engineered wood bedroom furniture helps clarify the materials used in this chest. Protect the finish from prolonged moisture and follow the manufacturer's furniture-care instructions. Because this is a tall storage unit, secure it using appropriate anti-tip anchoring hardware according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Bring organized vertical storage to your bedroom with the Ashley Ridgester Light Brown 5-Drawer Chest B858-46 from VBU Furniture. Its rustic hickory finish and dark metal details complement the Ridgester bed and matching dresser.
