Why consider the IFD Dutton 6-Drawer 1-Door Dresser IFD5731DSR?
The Dutton IFD5731DSR combines substantial bedroom storage with a clean country-cottage look. Its lightly distressed brown multi-step lacquer keeps the wood character visible without making the dresser overly ornate. Six drawers are paired with a 1-door cabinet, giving the IFD5731DSR more storage flexibility than a drawer-only dresser. Mortise-and-tenon construction strengthens major joints, while solid-wood drawer fronts with English dovetails and Hafele steel slides add practical construction details for regular use. At 66.75 inches wide, it is best suited to bedrooms with generous wall space.
What materials and construction are used in the IFD Dutton IFD5731DSR?
The Dutton uses mixed-wood construction, allowing different wood components to serve structural and visual purposes throughout the dresser. Mortise-and-tenon joinery reinforces major furniture joints for stability, while the drawer fronts are 100% solid wood with English dovetails that create strong connections at the corners. Hafele steel slides support repeated opening and closing of the drawers. Its lightly distressed brown lacquer leaves more visible wood character than a completely opaque finish. For shoppers comparing construction approaches,
solid wood and engineered wood bedroom furniture
can differ considerably in how individual components are built and used.
What storage does the Dutton IFD5731DSR provide?
The IFD5731DSR combines six drawers with a 1-door cabinet, giving clothing, accessories and larger bedroom items different storage areas. The top drawer is microfiber lined, providing a softer surface for smaller belongings, while the custom metal pulls have a chip-resistant finish at frequently handled points. The combination of drawers and enclosed cabinet storage is particularly useful for shoppers who want more flexibility than a conventional six-drawer dresser provides.
Is the 66.75-inch Dutton dresser a good fit for a larger bedroom?
At 66.75 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 38.5 inches high, the Dutton has a substantial footprint and is better suited to rooms with adequate wall width than to very compact bedrooms. Its broad top and mixed drawer-and-cabinet storage make it useful when storage capacity is a higher priority than minimizing dresser width. When
arranging the dresser with a bed and nightstands
,
allow enough space for both the dresser itself and comfortable access to the drawers and cabinet door.
