Why choose the Ashley Aureta Power Lift Recliner 1790312?
The Ashley Aureta 1790312 stands out for combining a roomy 23-inch-wide seat with true power lift assistance and independent back-and-footrest adjustment. Dual motors let you elevate your legs without automatically reclining the back, or change the back angle while keeping the footrest in a different position—useful when reading, watching TV or simply changing positions throughout the day. When getting up, the lift mechanism raises and tilts the seat forward toward a standing position rather than functioning as an ordinary power recliner. Heat and massage add another adjustable relaxation feature and shut off automatically after 30 minutes. Charcoal Next-Gen Nuvella™ performance fabric is designed to resist stains and can be cleaned according to Ashley's care instructions. An Earth version (1790212) is also available.

Is the Ashley Aureta 1790312 a good power lift recliner for older adults?
The Aureta has several features that can be especially relevant for an older adult who wants assistance moving from sitting toward standing. It is a true power lift chair, so the seat rises and tilts forward instead of simply reclining. The 20-inch seat height provides a useful reference point for sit-to-stand fit, while the 26-inch-high arms give the user defined armrests on both sides. Its dual motors also let the back and footrest move independently, so the chair does not force the user into one fixed reclining position. Individual fit still matters: the 23-inch seat width is relatively roomy, while the 22-inch depth may feel different depending on leg length. Those measurements are important when
choosing a living room chair for an older adult.
How roomy is the seat on the Ashley Aureta Power Lift Recliner 1790312?
Although the chair is 39 inches wide overall, the usable seating area between the arms is 23 inches wide. That distinction matters because overall chair width includes the arms and frame and does not tell you how much space the person actually has while seated. The seat is also 22 inches deep and 20 inches high. A practical way to judge fit is to measure a chair the intended user already likes: compare its inside seat width, seat depth and seat height with 23 × 22 × 20 inches. A wider seat gives more side-to-side room, while a deeper seat may place the front edge farther behind the knees for a shorter user. Matching those measurements is more useful than relying on labels such as “large” or “roomy” when
comparing living room chair proportions for everyday sitting.
How much room does the Aureta 1790312 need when fully reclined?
Upright, the Aureta is 43 inches deep. Fully reclined, its overall length reaches 69 inches, so the chair uses about 26 additional inches of front-to-back space when opened. Ashley also specifies 13 inches of clearance between the recliner and the wall. That means room planning should account for both the rear clearance and the forward movement of the footrest rather than using the 43-inch closed depth alone. A coffee table, ottoman or main walking route placed close to the chair may need additional separation so it does not interfere with reclining or lifting. That is why
planning chair placement around walking paths and nearby furniture
is particularly important for a power lift recliner.
