The Ashley Ridgester B858B2 brings rustic character to a queen bedroom with its 70-inch-tall framed-panel headboard, natural light brown hickory veneer and contrasting metal accents. Hardwood solids and engineered substrates form its substantial construction, while reinforced side-rail supports help secure the bed structure. The matching panel footboard completes the coordinated design. At 66 inches wide, the frame accommodates a queen-size sleeping arrangement with a distinctive architectural presence. Headboard, footboard, rails and slats are included; a compatible foundation and mattress are purchased separately.
What pairs well with the Ridgester Queen Panel Bed?
For a comfortable bedroom setup, consider a queen-size
Nectar Premier Hybrid Mattress,
combining foam cushioning with coil support, or the
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid 4.0 Mattress,
another hybrid option for layered cushioning and responsive support. Both offer mattress choices to complement Ridgester's rustic frame. A compatible queen foundation or box spring is required and sold separately; confirm support and mattress requirements before purchasing.

Does the Ashley Ridgester B858B2 queen bed require a box spring?
Yes. The Ashley Ridgester B858B2 queen panel bed requires a foundation or box spring, sold separately. The bed includes a panel headboard, footboard, side rails and slats, but those components do not eliminate the manufacturer’s foundation requirement. Its side rails incorporate laminated hardwood support members with reinforced blocking. Unlike a platform bed designed for direct mattress support, Ridgester must be completed with an appropriate queen foundation and mattress. This distinction is important when comparing platform beds with traditional panel beds that use a separate foundation. Confirm the foundation's dimensions and height, as these affect mattress support and the finished bed's sleeping height.
Will the Ridgester queen bed fit in a 10-by-12-foot bedroom?
The Ashley Ridgester B858B2 measures 66 inches wide and 81 inches long, making it possible to accommodate in many 10-by-12-foot bedrooms. Centered against a 10-foot wall, the frame leaves approximately 27 inches on either side before adding nightstands. Along a 12-foot room dimension, about 63 inches remains beyond the footboard. These are geometric estimates; doors, closets, dressers and circulation paths may reduce usable space. Ridgester's 70-inch-tall headboard also creates a prominent visual feature, so check window and wall-art placement. When deciding between queen and king bed sizes based on bedroom dimensions and walking clearance, a queen can leave more room for bedside furniture. The Ridgester collection also offers King and California King configurations.
Is the Ridgester bed made of solid hickory, and what makes its design distinctive?
The Ashley Ridgester B858B2 combines hardwood solids, rustic hickory veneer and MDF substrates; it is not constructed entirely from solid hickory. Its light brown natural wood-tone finish emphasizes grain variation, while large framed panels and dark metal accents give the headboard and footboard a rustic, industrial-inspired character. The 70-inch-high headboard creates a stronger bedroom focal point than many low-profile beds. These construction details are useful when comparing solid wood, wood veneer and engineered wood furniture, since appearance and underlying materials are separate considerations. Ridgester is particularly well suited to bedrooms with neutral bedding, natural textures, warm wood nightstands and black metal accessories.
