Why choose the Ashley Taffenbrook 10-Drawer Dresser B849-31?
Instead of storing different clothing categories together in a few oversized drawers, the Ashley Taffenbrook B849-31 provides ten individual compartments for more organized daily storage. Its smaller upper drawers are well suited to accessories, socks and other frequently used items, while the larger drawers below can accommodate folded shirts, jeans, sweaters and everyday clothing. Felt-lined top drawers add a more protective surface for smaller belongings. At 64 inches wide and 43 inches high, this substantial dresser offers generous drawer organization and a broad top surface for bedroom accessories, provided the room has sufficient wall space. A rich medium brown finish, picture-frame drawer detailing and matte black pulls give Taffenbrook a versatile appearance that bridges traditional craftsmanship and casual modern farmhouse styling. Built with hardwood solids, mango wood veneer and MDF substrate, its ten drawers feature finished interiors, French/English dovetail construction and heavy-duty ball-bearing side glides designed for smooth everyday operation.

How can the 10 drawers in the Ashley Taffenbrook B849-31 help organize clothing and accessories?
The Taffenbrook offers 10 drawers of varying widths and depths, allowing you to separate clothing by type, frequency of use or family member instead of mixing everything together. The smaller upper compartments are practical for socks, belts, accessories and other everyday essentials, while the wider lower drawers can accommodate folded shirts, jeans and sweaters. Its felt-lined top drawers provide a softer surface for watches, accessories or delicate personal belongings, although they are not a substitute for a dedicated jewelry organizer. Multiple drawer sizes can make it easier to find what you need without searching through one large compartment. When considering whether additional drawer storage is the right solution, our guide to
choosing between dresser drawers and organized closet storage
explains which arrangement may work better for different clothing categories.
How much bedroom wall space should I reserve for the 64-inch Taffenbrook dresser?
Measuring 64 inches wide, 19.13 inches deep and 43 inches high, Taffenbrook is better suited to bedrooms with a substantial uninterrupted wall than to layouts where available wall width is limited. As a practical starting point, a wall section approximately 72–76 inches wide would leave 4–6 inches of visual and installation clearance on either side. The dresser also projects about 19 inches into the room before any drawer is opened, so preserve additional floor space for full drawer extension and comfortable standing access. Its 43-inch height gives the top surface a somewhat elevated position compared with lower dressers, which may be useful for arranging decorative accessories but should be considered when placing artwork or a mirror above it. Bedrooms with less available wall width may benefit from a taller, narrower storage piece. For help comparing these configurations, see
when a wide dresser makes more sense than a vertical chest of drawers.
What makes the Taffenbrook B849-31 drawer construction suitable for everyday use?
Ashley equips the Taffenbrook with French/English dovetail drawer construction, fully finished drawer interiors and heavy-duty ball-bearing side glides. Dovetail joinery provides mechanical reinforcement at drawer corners, while ball-bearing glides help the drawers open and close smoothly during regular use. Finished interiors create a more complete storage surface for folded clothing, and the felt-lined top compartments are particularly useful for items that benefit from a softer lining. The dresser is made with hardwood solids, mango wood veneer and MDF substrate, rather than being constructed entirely from solid mango wood. Its wood-tone finish and matte black pulls can complement traditional or modern farmhouse bedroom furnishings. For safety, position the dresser on a level surface and follow the manufacturer's instructions for anchoring and installation, particularly in homes with children. Avoid opening multiple heavily loaded drawers simultaneously, and keep heavier belongings in the lower compartments.
