Why choose the Ashley Steelwater Retreat Oversized Swivel Accent Chair 6670421?
The Ashley Steelwater Retreat 6670421 is designed as a dedicated lounging chair rather than a compact accent seat. Its 41-inch space between the arms gives one person substantial side-to-side room for relaxed sitting, while the 56-by-55-inch overall footprint creates the kind of generous presence normally associated with a chair-and-a-half. Soft chenille upholstery in Latte adds texture without introducing a strong pattern, making the chair easy to pair with cream, brown, taupe, natural wood and other warm neutral furnishings. A loose seat cushion can be repositioned, while the attached back stays in place and the included accent pillows can be moved around the seat. The 360-degree swivel adds flexibility for rooms where the chair may face the television at one time and a conversation area at another.

Is the Ashley Steelwater Retreat 6670421 a good chair for reading, relaxing or watching TV?
Yes—this chair is better suited to relaxed lounging than to compact, upright accent seating. The 41-inch space between the arms gives one person plenty of room to change position, sit with a pillow beside them or settle in for longer reading and TV sessions. The loose seat cushion and movable accent pillows also let you adjust how much support you want around your body, while the 360-degree swivel makes it easy to turn toward a television, window or conversation area without moving the entire 139-pound chair. If your priority is a chair you can truly settle into rather than a small occasional seat, the Steelwater Retreat is designed around that use.
How much room does the Steelwater Retreat 6670421 oversized swivel chair need?
The chair itself measures 56 inches wide by 55 inches deep, which uses about 21.4 square feet of floor area before accounting for swivel clearance. Because it rotates 360 degrees, the chair should not be positioned tightly against a wall, sofa or side table simply because its static dimensions fit. Leave enough open space around the curved body for the chair to turn without contacting nearby furniture. This is a substantial lounge chair rather than a small-space accent chair, so it works best where you can dedicate a clear seating zone to it. That is why
planning chair spacing around walkways and nearby furniture
matters more here than with a stationary occasional chair.
What is the difference between the attached back, loose seat cushion and accent pillows on the Steelwater Retreat 6670421?
Each part serves a different purpose. The attached back stays fixed to the chair, so it does not need to be repositioned after everyday use. The loose seat cushion can be lifted or repositioned, giving you more flexibility for routine cushion adjustment. The included accent pillows are movable and can be placed behind your back, beside your body or toward one side of the seat depending on how you prefer to lounge. In practical terms, the chair combines a stable back structure with more flexible seat and pillow placement instead of making every cushion permanently fixed.
