Why choose the Ashley Roxmere Queen Sofa Sleeper 5550339?
The Ashley Roxmere 5550339 brings traditional furniture details to a full-size sleeper sofa, combining deep Umber faux leather with roll arms, nailhead trim and decorative turned legs. The 76-inch space between the arms creates a broad everyday seating area, while the 23-inch seat depth supports a more relaxed sitting position. For overnight guests, a separate 60" × 72" memory foam mattress unfolds over a supportive steel sleeper frame, allowing the sofa to serve as both a substantial living-room piece and an occasional queen guest bed.

How much space does the Ashley Roxmere 5550339 need when the sleeper is open?
The Roxmere measures 98 inches wide and 40 inches deep when used as a sofa. Once the queen sleeper is opened, the distance from the outside back of the sofa to the end of the bed is 93 inches. Use that 93-inch figure as the sleeper's actual open depth. If the area at the foot also functions as a walkway, allow about
30–36 inches of walkway clearance
beyond the sleeper, with about 36 inches preferred for a primary circulation path. That additional clearance is for walking access, not part of the 93-inch sleeper footprint.
Is the Roxmere 5550339 genuine leather or faux leather?
The Roxmere is upholstered in faux leather, not genuine leather. The deep Umber finish is designed to deliver a dark leather-like appearance, while the roll arms, nailhead trim and turned legs reinforce the traditional look. Upholstery care should follow the product instructions for this synthetic covering rather than treatments intended for natural leather.
What mattress comes with the Ashley Roxmere 5550339?
The Roxmere includes a bi-fold queen memory foam mattress measuring 60 inches wide, 72 inches long and 4 inches thick. It sits on a supportive steel frame, and Ashley states that the memory foam is designed for better airflow and is encased in damask ticking. That dedicated guest mattress is separate from the sofa cushions, an important distinction when comparing a
sofa and sleeper sofa
for occasional overnight use.
What should you measure before delivering the Roxmere 5550339?
Ashley lists a minimum doorway width of 36 inches. Because the Roxmere is 98 inches wide overall, check the full delivery path rather than the doorway alone. Hallways, elevator openings, stair landings, ceiling clearance and tight turns can all affect whether a sofa this long can be angled into the room.
VBU Fit & Function Analysis
Room scale
At 98" wide × 40" deep, the Roxmere needs a substantial wall and floor area even before the sleeper opens. In bed mode, it reaches 93" from the outside back to the end of the mattress area.
Seating and guest use
Everyday seating provides 76" between the arms with a 23" seat depth, while overnight guests use a separate 60" × 72" × 4" queen memory foam mattress.
