What stands out about the IFD Desire IFD1302CHT 5-Drawer Chest?
The Desire IFD1302CHT provides five drawers of vertical bedroom storage in a 53.75-inch-high profile, giving shoppers more enclosed storage than a typical nightstand while using less wall width than many horizontal dressers. It is crafted from solid mixed woods and finished in deep and light brown tones that create a multidimensional Mahogany Brown appearance. Matte-black pulls add contrast to the warm wood finish. For shoppers comparing tall bedroom chests, 5-drawer chests or solid wood storage furniture, the Desire combines substantial vertical capacity with a relatively contained 36.5-inch width.
When does a 5-drawer chest like the Desire IFD1302CHT make sense instead of a dresser?
A 5-drawer chest can be useful when you need substantial enclosed bedroom storage but have less wall width available for a conventional horizontal dresser. The Desire IFD1302CHT uses a 36.5-inch-wide footprint while stacking five drawers vertically to a height of 53.75 inches. That arrangement can work well for folded clothing, accessories and other bedroom items when taller storage is practical. Its 20-inch depth should still be measured against the available floor space before ordering.
How is the IFD Desire IFD1302CHT constructed?
International Furniture Direct identifies the Desire IFD1302CHT as crafted from solid multi-woods. The case uses mortise-and-tenon construction, while the five drawer fronts are 100% solid wood with English-dovetail joinery. Hafele steel slides support drawer movement, and matte-black metal pulls use a non-chip finish. These details make the chest relevant for shoppers comparing solid wood bedroom storage as well as those weighing construction, room size and storage needs within a broader

What gives the Desire IFD1302CHT its Mahogany Brown appearance?
The Desire IFD1302CHT uses a multi-step lacquer finish in deep and lighter brown tones, with highlights that create a more dimensional surface than a flat single-color stain. A wire-brushed effect helps emphasize the natural grain, while matte-black metal pulls provide a darker contrasting accent. International Furniture Direct classifies the Desire collection as Country Cottage, but the straightforward rectangular shape and dark hardware also make the chest easy to combine with a range of brown wood bedroom furniture.
