Why choose the Ashley Ridgester Dining Server D858-60?
The Ashley Ridgester D858-60 is especially useful when a dining room needs both substantial concealed storage and a broad surface for serving or display. At 70.5 inches wide, it provides nearly 6 feet of top space, while the two cabinets divide storage into separate zones so dinnerware, serving pieces and smaller accessories do not all have to share one large compartment. Each cabinet includes an adjustable shelf and a felt-lined accessory drawer, giving you three storage levels to work with: drawers for smaller or more delicate pieces, shelves for everyday dishes and the larger cabinet area for taller serving items. Hardwood solids, rustic hickory veneer and MDF substrates are finished in a natural light-brown wood tone, while dark bronze-tone bar pulls add contrast. The result is a server that combines practical dining-room organization with a substantial furniture presence.

How much dining room space does the Ashley Ridgester Server D858-60 need?

The Ridgester measures 70.5 inches wide and 19.25 inches deep, so plan on about 5 feet 10.5 inches of uninterrupted wall space for the server itself. Depth matters just as much in a dining room because chairs and people still need room to move in front of it. If the server borders a primary walking route, allowing roughly 30–36 inches of clear passage beyond its 19.25-inch depth means reserving about 49–55 inches from the wall to the far edge of the walkway. That clearance is general room-planning guidance rather than an Ashley specification. The 36.25-inch height places the top at a practical standing height for setting out dishes, serving pieces or décor.

What can you store inside the Ridgester D858-60 dining server?

The Ridgester is divided into two cabinets, and each cabinet includes an adjustable shelf plus a felt-lined accessory drawer. The shelf measures about 31.88 inches wide by 16.13 inches deep, giving you useful space for plates, bowls, serving dishes or folded table linens. The 31.75-inch-wide cabinet opening also makes it easier to place larger pieces inside than a narrow-door server would. Smaller items such as flatware, serving utensils or delicate accessories can be separated in the felt-lined drawers, which measure approximately 26.13 inches wide by 13.5 inches deep by 4.25 inches high. Because the shelves are adjustable, you can trade shelf spacing for taller items when needed.

Is the Ashley Ridgester D858-60 a good server for entertaining and serving meals?

Its 70.5-inch-wide top gives you a generous staging area for serving dishes, drinks or desserts while keeping the dining table itself less crowded. The storage directly below can also be organized by use: frequently needed dinnerware on the adjustable shelves, smaller utensils in the felt-lined drawers and bulkier serving pieces inside the cabinet compartments. That combination makes the Ridgester more useful than a display-only console when you regularly host meals. For unusually heavy appliances or serving equipment, use Ashley's specified load guidance rather than assuming the top can support any weight.
